Ford EGR Flow Out of Range

๐Ÿ“… Last reviewed: July 2026
What does the P1415 code mean?

The P1415 code indicates that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system flow is outside the expected range during the PCM's self-test. Ford's EGR system uses a position sensor (EVP/EGRP) to monitor valve stem movement. During the self-test, the PCM commands the EGR valve open and compares the actual sensor response to calibrated values. If the detected flow doesn't match the programmed range for specific operating conditions, this code is set. This DTC is specific to Ford's control strategy and differs from generic P0401/P0402 in its monitoring logic.
